ADD TO HOME SCREEN

PDX Meets can sit on your home screen and open like any other app – full screen, its own icon, no browser bar. There is no app store involved and nothing to download; it is this same site, kept one tap away.

On iPhone & iPad

  1. Tap the Share button
    It is in the toolbar at the bottom of Safari – a square with an arrow coming out of the top.

    No Share button down there?
    Then Safari is in its compact layout, and Share is inside the page menu – the three lines at the left of the address bar. Tap those, then Share, and carry on below.
  2. Add to Home Screen
    Pick Add to Home Screen
    Scroll the list down – it sits below the row of apps you can share to.
  3. Cancel Add to Home Screen Add
    Tap Add
    Top right of the sheet. The icon lands on your home screen straight away.

Safari only. Chrome and Firefox on iPhone cannot add to the home screen, so open this page in Safari first.

On Android

  1. Tap the ⋮ menu
    Three dots, at the top right of Chrome, beside the address bar.
  2. Add to Home screen
    Pick Add to Home screen
    Some versions of Chrome call it Install app. Either one does the same thing.
  3. Cancel Install
    Tap Install
    The icon lands on your home screen, and in your app drawer alongside everything else.

Firefox and Samsung Internet can do it too – the menu is in the same place and the wording is close enough to follow.
