Using this site

PDX Car Meets is a free, independent community calendar. By creating an account or posting content, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree with them, please don't create an account.

Your account

You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for anything posted from your account. Provide accurate information when you register, and let us know if you believe your account has been compromised. Accounts are for individual people.

Content you post

You're responsible for the events, descriptions, photos, and updates you post. Don't post anything illegal, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit, or knowingly false (e.g. fake events, fake locations, or impersonating someone else). Automated filtering flags some language, but final judgment on what's appropriate rests with the site's admins and owner. Don't post anyone else's personal information without their consent.

This includes impersonation: don't register an account or use a username meant to be mistaken for another real person, business, car club, or event host. The verified checkmark next to a host's name is how we vouch for an account's identity, if you run a local business or club and believe someone else is using your name here, contact us. Impersonation is handled like any other violation of these terms, up to and including banning the account or reassigning the username.

You keep ownership of what you post. By posting it, you give this site permission to display, store, and distribute it as part of the normal operation of the service (e.g. showing it on the calendar, in the iCal feed, or in email notifications to attendees).

Moderation and enforcement

Admins and the Owner can remove content, ban accounts, or take other moderation action at their discretion. This includes in response to user-submitted reports to keep the site usable and safe. We try to be fair and to give a reason for bans, but moderation decisions on a volunteer-run community site are ultimately judgment calls, not guaranteed due process.

Events posted here

Events are posted by individual community members, not verified or organized by this site. We don't guarantee an event will happen as described, that a posted location or time is accurate, or that attending is safe. Use your own judgment when attending any meet, cruise, or show you find here, including around traffic laws, private property, and personal safety.

No warranty, beta status

This site is provided "as is," currently in beta, and maintained on a best-effort basis. Features may change, break, or be removed without notice, and the service may be unavailable at times. We aren't liable for lost data, missed events, or other damages arising from your use of the site, to the fullest extent the law allows.

Ending your account

You can delete your own account at any time from your account settings. This permanently removes your profile, posted events, RSVPs, and uploaded photos. We can also suspend or terminate an account for violating these terms.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the site develops, especially during beta. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
